The Biotrak™ MMP-1 activity assay system from GE Healthcare provides a simple, specific and precise quantitative determination of active or pro MMP-1 in tissue culture supernatants, serum, plasma, urine, synovial fluid and tissue homogenates. Active MMP-1 may be measured in the range 3.13-50 ng/ml and the sensitivity of the assay is 2.2 ng/ml. A longer incubation protocol enables an assay range of 0.1-1.56 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 100 pg/ml, should higher sensitivity be required.
