| Cleaning procedure RESOURCE Q&S 6 ml |
A general cleaning method is to apply the following sequence of solutions:
10-30 ml 1 M NaCl
10-30 ml 1 M NaOH
10-30 ml 1 M HCl
10-30 ml 1 M NaCl
Use a flow rate about 6 ml/min (or low enough to keep the backpressure below 1.5MPa) and rinse with 12 ml of distilled water between each solution. |
| It is not recommended to reverse the direction of flow due to the column design. The number of column volumes and time required for each cleaning step may vary according to the degree of contamination. After cleaning, remember that you should not keep the column in strong acidic or alkaline solutions (below pH 3 or above pH 12). |
| If this cleaning procedure does not restore satisfactory performance, replace the column with a new one. |
