GE Healthcare will sponsor "Molecular Biomarkers: TSE Signatures," a satellite workshop event. To date, the development of live animals tests based on the detection of PrPsc have been unsuccessful and continue to be challenged by the low amounts of this disease marker in accessible tissues or body fluids. This has led to the use of a wide variety of high content screening procedures, such as 2D-DIGE in an effort to identify alternative biomarkers of TSE disease.
