Web Update on GE Healthcare’s Amersham Radiolabeling Service Business

In December 2008 GE Healthcare announced that it would be be closing our radiochemicals business at the end of 2009. Since then we have been working hard, to ensure that we continue to provide a world-class service, and to seek opportunities to ensure continuity of that service beyond 2009.
We are delighted to report that we have reached agreement with Quotient Bioresearch (Radiochemicals) Limited who have acquired our Tritium and Carbon-14 radiochemicals custom preparations business (Amersham Radiolabeling Service) with immediate effect.
Quotient Bioresearch is a division of Quotient Bioscience.
The enlarged Quotient Bioresearch business will offer clients a wide-ranging service including:
- Manufacture of custom radiolabelled drug compounds
- A full range of in vitro and in vivo metabolism studies
- A range of clinical studies
- A broad range of bioanalytical services

In order to ensure a smooth transition and maintain a high level of service to our customers we will be transferring staff and operations in stages, starting with our sales and marketing teams in July 2009.
Our highly skilled custom prep scientists will transfer in phases from GE Healthcare to Quotient Bioresearch starting in January 2010 when they will re-locate into a brand new purpose-built facility, which we understand is also to be located in Cardiff, UK.
A key part of ensuring a successful transition is to obtain agreement from each customer to transfer contracts, storage agreements, radiolabelled materials and starting materials from GE Healthcare to Quotient Bioresearch. Please be assured that GE Healthcare will only transfer these materials and confidential information with your written consent. We will be contacting customers to review their individual situations. .
Please note that all orders for new custom synthesis preparations should now be placed with Quotient Bioresearch using the company information attached. Quotient Bioresearch has informed us that it will continue to honour existing price quotations supplied to you by GE Healthcare since 1st January 2009.
