Technical Information
ImageMaster™ 2D Platinum v7.0 user interface with dockable windows simplifies the process of 2-D gel image analysis. DIGE-enabled version shown.
ImageMaster™ 2D Platinum v7.0 offers a flexible interface for the comprehensive visualization, exploration, and analysis of 2-D gel data from both 2-D DIGE (2-D Fluorescence Difference Gel Electrophoresis) and non-DIGE technologies. Developed by the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics in collaboration with GeneBio and GE Healthcare, ImageMaster™ 2D Platinum is powered by the innovative and widely used Melanie™ gel analysis software. It simplifies and improves analyses of 2-D gels and the identification of protein markers of interest. Many of the functions found in earlier versions have been enhanced and simplified, and significant new features have been added for greater convenience and speed. The user interface has been improved and new interaction modes simplify even the most complex analysis.
Experiment design and support: Unique workspace concept for dynamically designing and managing your experiments. Interface: Powerful and flexible work environment. Image visualization: Extensive display features allow users to interact with the results and target the analyses. Image processing: Powerful algorithms for efficient spot detection, accurate spot quantitation, and robust gel matching. Calibration and normalization: Accurate comparison of abundance of a spot across gels, thereby overcoming variability. Statistical analysis: Quantitation of protein expression variations across gels or between different gel populations. Integration: Full support for ImageScanner™ II via LabScan™ software. Reporting: Versatile search engine for formulating complex queries without difficulty, and answering biological questions. Security: Protection of gel data. Automation: Customizable scripts to automate repetitive
tasks and handle large volumes of 2-D gel data. Web facilities: Database searches on the World Wide Web for corresponding spot data, with Internet querying facility. Importing/exporting data: Saving and reloading entire experiments in XML format.
