WAVE Bioreactor Systems have been used extensively for monoclonal antibody production. Cells and culture medium only come into contact with a presterile, disposable bioreactor chamber called a Cellbag where oxygen and nutrient transfer is maintained by the rocking motion induced by the system. As Cellbag bioreactors are disposable, they require no cleaning or sterilization, which simplifies operation and protects against cross-contamination.
