Lyo-Stable custom stabilization service

GE Healthcare’s Lyo-Stable stabilization technology locks in performance, enabling room temperature shipping and storage of your individual reagents, or complete assays.

What is lyophilization?

Lyophilization, also known as freeze-drying or cryo-desiccation, is the process of removing water from a sample without the need to apply heat, to stabilize the sample. Besides increasing sample shelf life, freeze-drying samples also reduces sample weight and volume, reduces the risk of contamination and eliminates the need to refrigerate samples, decreasing shipping and storage costs.

The benefits of lyophilization in assay kit development

As well as increasing shelf life, lyophilizing samples reduces the weight and volume, helping cut down on shipping costs and environmental impact. Find out about the stabilization process and the many benefits of this technology in our knowledge article.

Lyo-Lab video tour

Welcome to our new state-of-the-art lab facility dedicated to Lyo-Stable. The lab offers a scalable manufacturing solution whether you’re a start-up or an established global of stabilized molecular diagnostic kits.

TAKE A TOUR

Our Lyo-Stable technology

Our patented lyophilization technology stabilizes individual proteins and reagents, as well as complete multiplex assays, by providing a molecular environment that protects against conformational changes in protein structure.

Your made-to-order cake or bead will contain our proprietary excipient mix to stabilize your temperature sensitive assay for storage and shipping at ambient temperature. All you need to add is your sample and you are ready-to-go!

Find out about the benefits to be gained from lyophilization

Webinar: Introducing Lyo-Stable technology

Watch our webinar on our lyophilization services to find out how sample integrity and stability can be maintained at a wide range of temperatures for up to two years, helping to simplify workflows and improve results and data reliability. Our pre-dispensed, single dose reagents are compatible with automation and possible downstream applications, reducing contamination risk, shipping and storage costs.
